Bhindi Masala Recipe
Preparing a delicious tangy (and spicy) Bhindi Masala in super quick time - ideal for a quick meal with Chapathi/Roti
Ingredients
The Ingredients are meant to create a portion serving 2, scale as needed.
Ingredients | Quantity |
Bhindi (Okra) |
About 12 medium sized ones |
Onion | 1 medium (medium slices, thinner the better) |
Tomato | 1 cut into small diced cubes |
Salt, Red Chilli Powder, Rasam powder, Garam Masala Powder | To taste |
Turmeric Powder | half a teaspoon |
Cooking Oil | 2 teaspoons |
Tamarind | Small pieces soaked in water (this adds the tanginess) |
Preparation
1. In a Wok/Pot, fry onions with oil till golden brown & add in the Bhindi.
2. Fry until the Bhindi is crispy and then add in the Tomatoes.
3. Sprinkle in salt, Red Chilli powder & Garam masala and keep mixing till the spices are even.
4. Add in the tamarind water & add some rasam powder (this is the key to get in some tangy flavour ).
5. Let everything simmer on low flame till the Bhindi is cooked (should be about 5-7 mins).
